Forgotten Sitcoms

We all know the classic sitcoms inside out; Dad's Army, Rising Damp, The Likely Lads, Steptoe & Son etc and we all know the popular if less widely regarded fayre like On the Buses, Are You Being Served? etc. In this section I take a look at the vintage British television sitcoms of the 40s to 90s that are largely forgotten today, which includes those that are forgotten merely due to the length of time since they've been seen, more recent once popular in their time but now rarely spoken about as well as the quiet little gems and middle-of-the-road tat that were ignored at their time of broadcast when there was a sea of often forgettable sitcoms struggling for attention. In most cases these sitcoms have not had a terrestrial TV repeat and all of them have remained unavailable commercially on VHS or DVD, You possibly won't even have heard of many of these sitcoms or heard of them but know little about them and/or not had the opportunity to see them.

I dive deep into my large collection of commercially unavailable DVDs and memorabilia as well as the newspaper archives to provide as complete a picture of these forgotten sitcoms as you'll find anywhere online.
